A Message From The Sheriff |

 The Louisiana State Penitentiary Museum Foundation has
voted to unanimously induct Sheriff Louis Ackal into the Louisiana Justice Hall
of Fame for 2013. The ceremonies are scheduled for Friday, July 12, 2013
in Baton Rouge, LA. Sheriff Louis Ackal will be included with six other
2013 inductees:

Honorable John F.
DeRosier
Judge Jules Edwards
Mr. L. J. Hymel
Mr. Keith B. Nordyke
Judge Harry F. Randow
Sheriff Ackal states "I am extremely honored to be in the
company of my fellow inductees. I have devoted my life to public service
for over forty years and proud to serve as Sheriff of Iberia Parish. I
consider being inducted into the Louisiana Justice Hall of Fame a great tribute
not only my time spent as a law enforcement officer, but also the many men and
women I have had the pleasure of serving with."
